Taught by Christine Marsiglio MW,
Bollinger Medal Winner

Join Christine Marsiglio MW, recipient of the Madame Bollinger Medal for excellence in the MW Practical exam, for an intensive two-day Practical Masterclass on 20-21 November, 2026.

Christine is a Wine Educator and has been teaching MW students since 2020.

Practical training
that goes beyond identification

Most MW students are excellent tasters.

The challenge is translating what is in the glass into the kind of structured, evidence-led answer required in the Practical examination.

This Masterclass focuses on that gap

Many candidates can taste well. The challenge is knowing which evidence matters, how far that evidence allows you to go, and how to communicate your conclusions convincingly under time pressure.

Not a two-day mock exam

Over the two days you will taste 24 carefully selected blind wines.

Rather than sitting consecutive 12-wine mock papers, we will work by question type and practical skill.

Christine will introduce a concept or approach before you immediately test it against blind wines in a timed exercise.

Learn → Taste Blind → Write Under Time Pressure → Debrief

What You'll Work On

Throughout the masterclass we will cover:

  • Variety and origin

  • Winemaking

  • Quality and maturity

  • Style and commercial positioning

  • Funnelling

  • Picking up marks when your identification is wrong

  • Timing and exam technique
